I stopped here for a very late lunch. platz was quite empty, which means there was not much atmosphere, but we got good service from the friendly woman who served us and the food was just as good as we had eaten here before-Covid. the burger my mannes was very fleshy and juicy one of the best he apparently had. my tapas was great all dishes very delicious. could be more washabi in the Calamari dimmer for my lust, although (can only taste the mayonnaise.) beautiful decor and well placed inside. tables also outside. would definitely recommend.
Loughborough University is in the top five of our youngest's choices. We arrived a little early to look around Lougborough itself before heading to the campus based uni. It's hard when you're in a place you have never been and see a variety of eateries with no prior planning in front of you, to choose from. We didn't want a greasy spoon, or haute cuisine and as we looked around we saw the A board outside Goodliffe's on Church Gate which looked like a possibility. The menu is also displayed outside the door and as we hovered over an unsuspecting ladies shoulder, she noticed us and recommended it highly. We took her recommendation and entered, the staff were young ladies, probably students themselves, all very pleasant, happy and jolly, they looked genuinely happy to be there which is always a good sign. Hubby had Morrocan mint and lamb koftas, Littlest Foodie had the roasted sweet potato and red pepper salad with avocado, beetroot hummus, rocket, toasted pumpkin seeds, lemon dressing . I didn't really fancy anything, no fault of Goodliffe's I may hasten to add, but I can never say no to cheese so I ordered the cheese board (dessert menu) and a side of garlic ciabatta. I'm glad I did, I was able to pick the bits I wanted and Hubby finished the rest win win! The only thing I would suggest is maybe a soft cheese like Brie instead of two hard cheeses and stilton.Needless to say if Loughborough Uni is the chosen one' we will be visiting Goodliffe's again :
Good service, but eat under par! perhaps the court I had ordered, but for the money a very bad offer. it made me think about the return to the future. I have always enjoyed the meal so far, but it fell a bit flat! the prices they charge!
Came a few months ago here for a random date night with my partner and we had the most amazing time. the staff went beyond and beyond to take place for us, as our table was not ready. eating was from this world. I wish I had made pictures. I recently came back with my friend than mid week date night and wow this place is just better and better. officially my favorite restaurant in loughborough. we can not wait to come and try the breakfast menu xx
Ideal for parents looking to treat their children to a delicious meal before they embark on their university journey. The staff and management are attentive and the dining experience is excellent. Suitable for diners of all ages, even picky eaters like myself - an older patron.
