My wife and I popped in here for lunch during the model event, and had a lovely meal, served by cheerful staff. The burgers and cakes were both awsome, and we left absolutely stuffed. Really could not fault this tearoom, and we were really glad... View all feedback.
What suzienewt doesn't like about Ellis's Tearoom:
Pleasant enough place to have lunch..food over priced. Toilets...WHY are they always locked?? Not acceptable!! Stars 2 for food due to price Stars minus 5 due to the toilets being locked on so many occasions. View all feedback.
We typically enjoy a lovely breakfast at this restaurant, but our last visit on June 25th was disappointing. The vegetarian sausage and hash browns appeared to be deep fried, leaving everything sitting in a pool of fat. We were very disappointed considering the total cost of nearly £18 for one regular and one vegetarian breakfast, along with a mug of tea and a coffee. Hopefully, the quality of cooking improves in the future.
We had a group afternoon tea at Ellis 's Tea Room, at Rothley Station on the GCR heritage railway line on Sunday 26th September, and it was amazing, there were 17 of us, and we had the tearoom extension as our 'party room ', the food was absolutely delicious, there was plenty to drink, hot and cold drinks and the staff were lovely. A massive thank you to Tearoom Manager June Le Gallais and her team for all their hard work to make this an afternoon to remember. We will definitely be booking another group afternoon tea here soon!
What a fabulous place for afternoon tea. A cosy welcoming cafe with spacious outside seating close to the steam trains and beautiful Edwardian station. I cannot recommend this cafe enough for a very enjoyable afternoon tea, one of the best We have had. Unlike some afternoon tea’s you most certainly will not be going home hungry, sandwiches, sausage rolls, cakes and scones with cream all delicious. The staff were very friendly and attentive, no shortage of tea. For saying how busy they were service time was excellent.
I visited Ellis's with my son on the 3/7/21 as part of a Great Central Railway experience. I was due to arrive at 3pm but was actually there much earlier, however the staff were very accomodating and fitted us in. We were provided with a...
I ordered a vegetarian breakfast, and was told they had no sausages and no eggs. They said they would bulk it other with other things. They didn't. The guy serving us seemed bored. Just an unpleasant experience overall. I won't use the cafe again.
