This is the best Japanese restaurant in PEI, and the only one owned by Japanese people. While it may be a bit pricier, that's because the ingredients are top-notch! I highly recommend trying the vegan miso ramen. However, if you prefer BBQ chicken or pork, just leave a note to swap out the soy meat. The katsu don and gyudon are also incredibly delicious! It's definitely worth it. View all feedback.

Frustrating lunch take-away experience When I came to the shop and said order take away. The staff gave me the menu and I ordered lunch ramen which price at $11. But the bill said $18!!!! I asked the staff what's the reason, he said the price for dine in. and the ramen charged $18 with bigger portion. I told him that I don't need any bigger portion but lunch ramen portion. He said no such option. But day 1, he showed... View all feedback.
I enjoyed the salmon sashimi, spicy tuna roll, and spicy miso ramen (I was really hungry, lol) and I was not disappointed at all. I didn't take any pictures, and honestly, none were needed. I should mention that this restaurant uses a tablet system for placing orders once you're seated, which is very efficient, especially when it comes to getting drinks. That said, it was never difficult to talk to a staff member about my order.
I've been going to this restaurant for years, and the sushi and ramen are always excellent and very fresh. I appreciate the tablet/iPad menus for ordering, which make things convenient. They also offer a wide range of vegan and vegetarian options, including vegan sushi rolls and vegan ramen. As for accessibility, there's an elevator in the mall that takes you to the second floor where Hojo's is located.
Today was our first time dining at this restaurant, and I must say the food was incredible. The service was outstanding, and the atmosphere was fantastic. I had the chicken ramen, and the portion was quite generous. We loved the flavor of everything, and we will certainly be back again. Food: 5/5
Up here in PEI for the first time. You aren't going to impress this Bostonian with lobster and fried fish. Desperate for a more refined meal we were canvassing Charlottesville for a decent asian restaurant and stumbled on these reviews of HOJO. We were delightfully shocked by the high quality and professional preparation of the food. The ambience was lovely and while I initially was put off by the iPad ordering it made for a wonderful experience with food and drinks appearing magically after ordering . Having eaten sushi across the globe I can be picky but the freshly caught blue fin tuna sashimi was incredible. The Salmon nigiri was great. My husband being more of a cooked food animal tried the Katsu. At first, put off by the different appearance of the Katsu, he soon succumbed to the outstanding flavor profiles. After protesting it was too much food, he all but cleared the bowl. We will be here 5 nights and I imagine we will be back once again before we leave.....
Pretty tasty food but the portions are tiny for how much you are paying. The vegan ramen is amazing! The atmosphere is cute cozy, and elevated. Service is a bit slow thoughFood: 4/5
