This was hands down the best dinner we had during our trip. Excellent table at the window. Great location down town. Comfy seats too! I ha the beef stir fry in garlic sauce and it was awesome. If we had eaten here our first night then we would have come back three times. The Duchess had a salad and she reported that it was very good. Price was great and the drinks were well mixed. A bit of a stair climb which I dont... View all feedback.
What joandodge doesn't like about Claddagh Oyster House:
Very average food. I expected succulent PEI mussels steamed in a garlicky buttery sauce. The mussels themselves were so small with no flavor. My spouse had a dry steak and Guinness pie. The WORST part was the incredibly loud musicians. We couldn't talk across the table or hear each other. This music is more suited for after nine o'clock NOT during dinner. I left with a headache!! Husband had steak in Guinness pie - found it quite tender and tasty. I had chicken Alfredo and it was good. Server was very nice. Got great suggestion of leave our car where it was and walk to Confederation Theatre which worked out wonderfully. Overall food, server, and prices were good.
Shared the Dublin Dip with the table, I had the Southwest Chicken Wrap with Caesar salad. It was very tasty, loved the tangy sweet sauce on the chicken.
Delicious. Everything was amazing. Had the lobster stuffed mushrooms, seafood stuffed potato skins, islander burger and the seafood bake and it was all so tasty! The garlic mashed potatoes were amazing and the seafood was amazing!
We decided to try a pub style restaurant for casual atmosphere, good food and drink. It was 5:00pm and we had no reservations. This pub was inviting, friendly and unconcerned with our no reservation. There was excellent seafood, including fresh PEI oysters on the half shell for only $1 each between 4-6 pm; an excellent buy. I had the steamed mussels and oh so good. I also tried the Steak and Guinness pie. Excellent! Service was excellent also.
We visited the Olde Dublin Pub one evening for dinner....the restaurant was extremely crowded, and therefore, quite noisy as well. We were seated after a few minutes, and soon after, gave the waitress our order. As we waited for our meal, two or three other groups of diners came, sat down, gave their orders, got their food, and then, actually left after eating!! It was quite remarkable!!Finally, the manager came over to us, after the waitress gave us one or two surreptitious glances over the course of time. The manager gave her apologies, then explained that their printer had run out of paper in the middle of our order, and when a new roll of paper was added, our meals were completely missed!!She informed us that our order was now being processed and we would receive our meals very soon. The food did arrive some minutes later, and our meals were tasty....Shall I say, Well worth waiting for?? :-) (Maybe not quite that long, though!) When the waitress delivered our meals, she mentioned that the bill would be discounted. When we actually finished eating, and thought about leaving, she came back and said our meals were on the house! We were quite appreciative of that!In any event, all's well that ends well, because soon after we finished eating, and were thinking about getting up, an Irish band (two men and one young woman) came in and began entertaining. They were really, really good...They got the audience singing and interacting.....One guest even did her own brand of trying to gather guests/members of the audience to dance!!!Had the mishap with our meal order not occurred, we would have eaten and left before this band even arrived to entertain, so we counted ourselves lucky, in the end, that we were still there when they fired up their instruments! It was so much fun, we just couldn't make ourselves get up to leave!! We probably stayed an extra hour to watch and listen, and I would have happily stayed longer, but we could see new patrons waiting at the door, as we had when we arrived, and figured they would probably like to use our table!!So, even though our visit started off rather badly, I would sincerely recommend to anyone to have a drink, have a meal, enjoy the entertainment at the Olde Dublin Pub, and remember, mistakes do happen sometimes! It's what you do about them that counts!!
