My Taylor Ham and Cheddar on a Kaiser roll is still the best in Charlotte! They also have the real deal pastrami. Their Reubens are top notch. Great NY cheesecake and Black White cookies. They are and always have been on the pricer side, but it's worth it. New hours make it harder to catch them open though. It's well worth it to check them out. View all feedback.
What jerry hodgson doesn't like about New York Deli:
OUT OF BUSINESS?? SAY IT AINT SO!!! These guys served the most amazing latkes and pastrami sammiches I 've ever eaten!! That said, it was a low visibility location, where ever they went, I hope they got a better venue View all feedback.

Damn I was just looking into going here and I'm from Queens NY but from reading all the bad news I guess Ima have to save my money and to the owner that is a lot of money for a breakfast sandwich it's much cheaper in NY at any deli you should know that stop reaching in people's pocket when the cost of living is half of NY here in Charlotte.
Sorry, I'm from New York and this place is not even close. Dirty, cheaply made food and outrageous prices. The bagels come out of a plastic bag and they use the bread you find in the bargain bin at the supermarket. My wife and i paid over $16 for a bagel with cream cheese, ham, egg and cheese on a roll (which was a ridiculous $7.50 alone) and a black and white cookie. Sadly we're left searching still for a good deli in south Charlotte.
We love the NY Deli. Great sandwiches, lox, and whitefish. And name one other restaurant in town that brings out homemade pickles and cole slaw to the table to nosh on while you wait for the best Reuben south of NY. My gf and I love to share the blintzes (which are epic, topped with blueberries) and the Katz size reuben half corned beef, half pastrami and wash it down with Dr. Brown 's dark cherry soda. I grew up with a Jewish bubby, and can assure you this spot is authentic. Charlotte is lucky to have this gem.
