What User doesn't like about Tempest:
The service was outstanding!!! The food was just okay. Restaurant week is usually when we try some of the culinary gems Charleston has to offer. Last weekend we tried C U and our server recommended Tempest as it was a sister restaurant to C U. C U was fantastic in all ways so we figured why not…. Service was incredible and the food was great! They gave out flowers and complimentary cognac!
The service was wonderful. Both the food and drinks were served in a timely manor and the fresh, hot bread was a nice treat. Unfortunately, both entrees and both sides were really bland. I felt badly asking for salt and pepper, but it was the only thing that gave the food any flavor. The tuna was over cooked and cold and my husband’s whole fish had no flavor other than the sauce poured on top. The after dinner ritual of the rose and the cognac tasting was a nice touch. Sadly, we won’t be back anytime soon.

We went to Tempest for their prix fixe Thanksgiving dinner. It was one of the only restaurants with reservations still available for Thanksgiving dinner. The hostess seemed annoyed that we arrived prior to our reservation time and asked to have a drink at the bar. The food portions were small, but that would have been ok if the quality was better. My mum had the beet salad, risotto, and Black Forest mousse. I had the squash bisque, swordfish, and fall harvest dessert. It was all mediocre at best.
