Shoney's - Charleston

The server tried. The buffet was terrible. The hot food was cold. The salad bar was fresh, but the salad dress was rinsed. Literally, no taste was so watered. The server didn't know satisfied with eating on our plates. It was impossible. The restaurant needs urgent attention. It was terrible. $31 later (the adjusted invoice) and their tip (it was not their fault) It was so bad.

The staff were very friendly. They really seem to care for the customers. The food was average to mediocre. Most items were bland. The only lettuce they had on the salad bar was iceberg lettuce. Good value for the money though. You won't go away hungry.

Ate here a month ago and had burgers, they were amazing, not this time, ordered the all day breakfast buffet, and at 430 pm I think the food had been there all day, hard biscuits, cold gray cold eggs, hospital cafeteria food at its worst. Will not be back, 17 dollars a person, could have eaten at Texas Roadhouse and had steaks and baked potatoes. Note to self.

Admittedly, I haven't been to a Shoney's in quite some time, so my memory is being tested. That being said, this visit was disappointing, at least for the breakfast buffet. We were on the late side, for breakfast; that may have have been an issue, but it shouldn't matter. All of the items were plentiful and the buffet was and the facilities were clean. The service was good. Next time, I believe I'll order from the menu.

I was disappointed that you can't order much anymore. The bar is 11.99 and has typical stuff. We really wanted made to order but the choices were slim. My mom wasn't totally happy at the choice of restaurant anyway, then she was less than impressed with the food.
