Discover a charming Spanish restaurant in Charleston where diners can indulge in shareable paellas and a variety of tapas. While the ambiance is pleasant for gatherings or dates, the paella experience has received mixed reviews, with some guests noting inadequate seafood portions and dry rice. Service varies, with some praising attentive staff and others highlighting issues with table management. Many enjoyed the vibrant tapas offerings and well-crafted mocktails. With delicious small plates and a relaxed environment, this spot shows potential for soulful dining, but improvements in food consistency and service efficiency could elevate the experience further.

My wife and I were welcomed in to Barsa by smiling faces. We were happy to see the choices on the menu along with the reasonable prices. We ordered the roasted beets. Such a delicious refreshing dish. Secondly, the beef empanadas. The filling was spicy and very tasty. Finally, the seafood paella was cooked perfectly with deep flavor. The only thing better than the food was the service. The server was honest, helpful, and prompt. We felt right at home. We would return to eat.

We’re open minded and enjoyed our visit here, but a few things fell a little short. A couple of cocktails weren’t available due to missing ingredients, and desserts were a bit bland. But the service was good, and the live music was great!

We had a group of 8 people and we ordered 2 large paellas.. A large seafood paella had two pieces of shrimp !! and one small piece of fish in it – I’m not joking. It was simply impossible to share the meal, a half of us have not tasted seafood at all.. Rice was dry and uncooked.. I can recall in the past rice usually came well done with a sauce but not this time.. It was so dry you could hardly insert a spoon : .. The waitress informed us that she was unable to split the checks, suddenly it became a complicated task that she was not able to handle..

So glad we came here! Absolutely amazing food! We shared the roasted olives, the stuffed cheese peppers and the seafood paella and we're impressed. I'm Puerto Rican so we've had some excellent paella but this one was an entirely different taste. The riceand all the flavors were delicious, there are 3 different portion sizes so we got the small to share and good thing because themedium pan looked huge. Our server was awesome and on it. The atmosphere is low key and very nice with that special touch ofSpain.

I had a date night here last night, and the food and service were amazing. The chicken and chorizo medium-size paella take a little bit for them to make (noted on the menu) but it is 1000% worth it. It tastes incredible, and it easily feeds four people. It's a great value for the price and I can't recommend it enough.
