Barkadas is a great restaurant in Charleston, WV. They're located on Cantley Drive, right beside the Domino's Pizza. The restaurant is just a short drive away from areas like Southridge, South Hills, downtown Charleston, and Charleston's West Side. They don't have a huge footprint, but there is a decent-sized indoor dining room and some outdoor seating. As their website says, their food is a blend of American and Fil... View all feedback.
What Sam M doesn't like about Barkadas Restaurant:
This place is super clean and has an upscale feel to it. I also love the unique menu items they offer. The biggest disappointment was the value. I had the Chicken Karaage and some bao buns, and it was all a bit on the bland side. But there just wasn't much to it. We were still really hungry after eating here, so we stopped at grocery store on the way home and picked up a second dinner. I'd say this is the perfect pla... View all feedback.
Our family was headed to the airport in Charleston yesterday and looking for a place for lunch before departure. One word for this place, WOW!! The thought and creativity put into the menu and atmosphere is simply exceptional. Between all of us we had a pretty good sampling of the menu and everything was delicious. The combination of the Philippine influence with a little south tucked in delivered at every corner. Do yourself a favor and find some time to visit this establishment. BTW, Barkada is Philippine for gang; clique; informal group of friends. I am definitely a member of their clique now.PS Grace was our server and was so accommodating. Thanks Grace!
We had lunch here later in the afternoon on a Saturday. We could tell they had been very busy for the lunch rush but were starting to thin out by the time we arrived at 2pm. We were seated fairly promptly and our server was friendly and attentive throughout our dining experience. For starters, we had the pork Lumpia. While a bit light on the filling, they were delicious and satisfied a craving I always have living here in the Southeastern US as Filipino restaurants are very hard to find in this area. We also tried the Glazed Pork Belly Bao Buns. The pork belly had excellent flavor and texture and the buns were perfectly soft and warm. For mains, my husband had the Fili Cheesesteak with The Hawaiian loaded bar fries. Both were excellent. I had the Glazed Pork Belly bowl with Pancit noodles and elected to ‘Flip’ It!’ adding the crispy spam and fried egg. I didn’t particularly care for the spam in this manner I believe it is deep fried so it puffs up and hollows out to an odd texture. Overall, we both really enjoyed the food, but note, if you are in a hurry, the kitchen was very slow. It was about an hour and half for our dining experience at this visit.
A gem of a restaurant/bar. Staff was helpful and friendly, service was fast and food was excellent.
Awesome meal and super friendly staff. They had a issue with machines and made sure it was taken care of promptly. 10/10 awesome place
The food was so so good! Quite possibly the best chicken and waffles I've ever had.
