Laury's Restaurant - Charleston

As per the usual, my fellow Yelpers steered me in the right direction again! Tonight I celebrated wrapping up a big engagement with a lovely client in WV.

ONE OF A KIND! After reading fellow Yelper and fellow foodie, Ashlee T's review, this became a top of the bucket list requirement for me.

Let me state up front - the four stars has nothing to do with the food (which was superb), but the service (which was good, but not Fine Dining good). This

Return diners will not notice too many changes, which is good. the ambiente is excellent. they enjoy the magnificent interieur of a classic old building. if you're lucky and we were, great for the city. they have a good wine list, limited bourbon selection, the cash offers are not ready for the best time. my friend ordered sambuca, which is traditionally served with 3 coffee beans. they didn't have them when he ordered it before a week and they weren't last night. that may be picky, but the table was not set right. we have uttered and escargot apps, both excellent. I had lamb, which was also excellent, my wife really enjoyed the seafood diablo. we had both souffles, chocolates and grand marniers, who were perfect but have to be ordered early. that makes me complain. the service was remarkably slow, I mean they will check their emails, etc while they wait for dinner. the parking space limits them to three hours, they will close it. they were not particularly crowded, there was no obvious reason. slower service and the bar is why I no longer rated this otherwise excellent restaurant.
