Had a lovely dinner here whilst on business trip. Although a little off the beaten track it was well worth the trip. The views were stunning, atmosphere relaxed and the food was good. Would make the trip for just the saucisse (sausage) best I have ever had. View all feedback.
What ExpatAgainandAgain doesn't like about Auberge du Lac Genin:
This is a great spot on a beautiful little pond in the mountains. The food is good with great sides and meat cooked right in front of you in the open fireplace. Everything was fine except we seems to have gotten the one server who didn't want to be there that night. Unfortunately he had no patience, didn't appreciate the kids, paid no attention to use between courses, and didn't bother offering us our cheese course (... View all feedback.
We spent the day at the beautiful lake and decided to stay for diner. There is one menu with limited choices. The quality of the meat is Very good but the plates are too simple. The meat is grilled on the wood fire and comes on a plate with nothing else on it. It is served with French fries and a salad on the side. But even the salad sauce is basic with no taste. The service is disorganized and long. The person to whom you pay is very unfriendly. Too expensive for what it is! Too bad the area is beautiful.
We stopped for lunch on a busy Sunday for lunch. Reservations are necessary. As most everything is cooked in the fireplace in the dining room; that is a bottleneck. Thus your waiter or waitress may not take your order as soon as you might like. But it is GOOD.
Great place, great view, great food, great service and great price! This place is lovely and really worth its price.
