Chez Tonino les Agapes

I started coming sometimes at Les Agapes a few years ago. Then Akli arrived. A musician, a writer, an activist, 1000 lifes to tell. I became a regular and spent a few evening listening to Akli. Eating tasty pizzas or large plates of pasta (carbonara, bolognese, with mushrooms, with salmon ...) often long to be served. Drinking a glass of Uby. The decor has changed with red colors, brasserie style. Akli visits became a rare thing, mines also.Servers remain friendly, stuff is good, special evenings continue, Bois de Vincennes is very close ... Les Agapes is still a sure thing.

So, after a nice long walk in the Bois de Vincennes, my dog leads the way back home. On a quiet street, just off the Bois and southeast of the Velodrome, is my local Restaurant, Les Agapes. The dog immediately heads inside to be greeted by the friendly staff and locals. I take my regular table. My dog gets a bowl of water and I get a pitcher of red wine. Ah yes, life is good.The atmosphere is bright and lively with an American Jazz theme. I rarely consult the menu, as the daily specials and recommendations are always great and reasonably priced.I can say that the food is always well prepared, and it is always great value for your money.The selection is varied. Pizzas are always a good choice. The Pastas and veal dishes are very well done too. There is always a good choice of fresh salads, meats and fish. If you want a special treat, order the Côte de Boeuf for 2 persons. You will not be disappointed with the quality, and in my opinion, the best I have ever had.Watch for the Live Music Nights. I would recommend reserving a table, as the locals fill up the place, with tables overflowing onto the sidewalk at times. It makes for a great evening of music, food, and friendly conversation.
