I absolutely enjoyed karaoke night here! The staff was fantastic - very friendly and welcoming. It seemed to attract a slightly older crowd, more of a college student vibe (at least during my visit). View all feedback.
What User doesn't like about Nightlight Club:
I heard that a few years ago, there was a sexual assault during a punk show that was predominantly attended by white people, and the accusation was directed at a Black individual. View all feedback.
This is a cool spot for live djs and music. It's kind of hidden, dark, covered with stickers, art, and vintage stuff, the way I like it. I think it's for a younger, more underground-savvy crowd. If you just want basic top 40, go elsewhere. I saw some local hiphop acts perform live. I knew none of them, but it was a good time. Sound system and subwoofers are powerful, fyi. Plenty of bass. Full bar, but indie, so don't expect every brand of everything. It seems they close once the live performances are over, even if that is 12am rather than 2am. Understandable, as it's an event-focused space, not just a bar. The one thing I saw here that I've never seen before, is that many of the live hiphop acts were singing/rapping over music that already had singing/rapping in it. Idk if they were rapping over other people's tracks, and that's just a Thing People Do that I didn't know about, or if they were rapping over their own tracks. But I would just think that as a young local performer, you'd want to sing or rap over instrumental tracks so we can hear You and You alone.
A stalwart friend of unfamiliar music and performance!
Cozy bar that has THE milkshakes! Place to smoke out back is the more important tip. Super hipster-y
The place where all dreams come true. It will always be at the top of my list of places to be in public. The best shows, people, and prices in Chapel Hill or NC for that matter
