I’m a huge fan of Al and his burger empire — the world is a better place for it. I’m a loyal Franklin Street customer but with extra time on a Sunday, I thought we should check out the new location in Governor’s Village. This place is just like Al, it feels like you’ve been coming here for ages and you are already best friends. Our server said yes to everything literally she even found a way to say no by saying yes.... View all feedback.

This place is just like Al, it feels like you’ve been coming here for ages and you are already best friends. Our server said yes to everything literally she even found a way to say no by saying yes. The food is a good as ever. I had a Melly Mel; my guy had the breakfast burrito and a hot dog. Breakfast burritos are usually really good or just serving a purpose. This was one of the best we’ve ever had. I still want my final moments to include Al’s pimento cheese fries. Here’s to Al and his empire of love for food and his community.
So far, in two and a half years, these have been the best burgers I've had. I love that you can have any burger as a slider. Anyone thinking of going to this place, keep in mind, the sliders are more filling than you'd imagine. The hotdog was extremely good too. I love the grilled bun. Definitely try this place out!
Really enjoyed my first visit to Al's. Walked in and it was a great first impression. ACC basketball on the TVs and the smell of great food was in the air. I was interested in a smaller meal since it was getting a little later in the evening so I opted for one of their hotdogs, a broccoli salad and a root beer. They offer many other options but those were my choices for the evening. The folks I was with got a large fry and of my goodness was that a large fry! Tossed in a little bit of rosemary and salt, these crinkle cut fries were excellent. All three of us shared them and there were some left when we were done. You won't go wrong dropping into Al's for a great burger, chicken sandwich, or hot dog. They offer beer, wine, and other hard drinks as well. The staff is very friendly and the service is great. Do yourself a favor and stop by.
Worth the drive from Raleigh. I can see why they are rated so high.
The burgers are well deserving of their many accolades. The garnishes were absolutely fresh as was the burger buns. I'll definitely be back for another . . . But next time I'll tell them to hold the sauce which detracted from the burger.
