We shared... read more We arrived at our hotel after an early flight from the UK, and asked for a recommendation for a relaxed lunch. Histoire 2 was the perfect suggestion. We shared a smoked salmon starter, which I followed with an incredible ravioli dish, swimming in an amazing...cheese and cream sauce. The restaurant has a great wine list, and a couple of bottles of white later we were fully immersed in our French mini-break. The team in the restaurant were extremely friendly, and happy to answer any questions about the menu, and the atmosphere was vibrant and warm. The fact that the restaurant was bustling and busy on a Friday lunchtime is testament to the quality of the food and service on offer!

The outdoor surroundings were pleasant and the server was attentive, although I sensed that her command of English was weak.

Walked in, and was standing at the entrance and the waitress, who had just s... read more Had there been a way to rate this place zero stars, that would have been my rating. Walked in, and was standing at the entrance and the waitress, who had just spoken to the couple that arrived a minute before us, walked straight past us....She only stopped when I addressed her, and told her we had a reservation. We were then shown to a table and given menus. Shortly after this another table of 4 had been sat next to us. In the 22 minutes we waited while no one served us, the table that arrived just before us and just after us received drinks, complimentary bread, and their menus. No one even bothered to ask if we wanted a drink. The waitress also cleared two tables all while we waited. At 22 minutes when I finally complained the excuse was that she was my herself, which would have been fine had she not managed to give the four people that after us bread and drinks. I should have just stayed at my hotel. It is my own fault for wanting to experience the town.

The people are friendly and the food is always good. Desserts are delicious too.

This restaurant has a totally relaxed and cheerful vibe the s... read more After a week of subdued restraint in stiff French restaurants, Histoire2 was a blast of fresh air! This restaurant has a totally relaxed and cheerful vibe the staff are lovely friendly and personable and the food (good solid burgers, steak etc. is...brilliant! One of our best experiences so far. We went with our boys of 11 and 9 years old and had a wonderful evening. Our only regret is that we didn't discover Histoire 2 earlier on in our trip we most certainly would have become regulars! :
