The Platanos Of Splantzias - Chania

Great food, excellent service! the fava beans with chorizo, thunfischfilet and the flesh were really delicious! we really enjoyed everything. many thanks and we will visit safely again.

Nice place in a very nice square. Prices relatively high but still reasonable.

A wonderful place for breakfast. sitting under a huge platano-tree. we had omelette and fruitsalad. both was delicous. unfortunately no greek coffee (cafe heleniko), but the cappucino is also welldone.

Really good food, and cheap. Nice staff, and fast service. Recommended for everyone.

I find this review difficult to write, because even if the restaurant is situated in a good place in Splantzia, and the food was looking good on the plates, I didn´t enjoy the food as much as I expected. We ate lunch at Platanos, and my husband who is from Peru, ordered a Tuna tartare, dreaming of something close to a Ceviche, and was very disappointed. I gave it a try as well, and I respect the try for something with a raw fish, but it didn´t stand out in any way. We were two who ate the diced grilled chicken which was better than the Tuna tartare. It looked wonderful, but something was missing. Maybe a little Garam masala would have spiced it up a little more? Maybe ginger? Maybe use spring onion on the Tuna instead of leek? The bread was really good, and the yoghurt cream very good as well. The wine was fine and the service was good. I liked the herbs in the wheelbarrow. I have to say that my experience was as a total 3,5 stars, almost 4.
