service and eating were super nice! After an hour we tried to find a place with a table (or a place without a waiting queue), we stumbled on it. we thought, given the crowd of people, it would take us forever to be noticed and get the food, but it was all super smooth and fast! eating was amazing, it was our first time to try the bakri labyrinth and it was super good! We did not receive the additonal plates for the mussels/snail shell and were guided to the supermarket for the wet napkins by one waiter. Other waiter gave us a pack of baby napkins, already dry. Understand the busy timing, as the restaurant was full and tables changing all the time, but same was in other places in Chania and we felt more welcome.
Service was slow and indifferent. Waiters ignored us and didn't ask is everything ok or did we like the food at any point. Waiting long time for anyhing; 15 minutes to order, 15 minutes with empty plates before we could order the check and another 15 minutes when we got the check. At this point restaurant were already half empty and waiters were checking the place but didn't pay any attention to us. Food were decent and came pretty quickly as place were full. Tsigariasto lambs meat were good but we were hoping that there would have been for example something green or sauce. Now there were only meat and potatoes. Place was really beautiful and live music were good. We had expectations but food and service didn't match those.
Location is fantastic a alley from the restaurants next to the water very unusual in a dachless ruined building witch was wonderful to experience. The service was brilliantly very friendly warm friendly. There were also Cretan folk music in the atmosphere. Food and prices very reasonable. Would highly recommend the halloumi it comes with a jam sauce. Lamb hacks. Tzatziki made fresh with Pitta bread.
The location in an old ruin is fantastic. around 19 clock they had live music and eating was also very good.
We have been in Chania now for 2 weeks and this is hands down, the best restaurant we have been to here. With lovely authentic Greek live music, AMAZING food and atmosphere and a beautiful location, you can't get better than this. Also they had our favourite dish Tarama on the menu, which most local restaurants don't have on the list, and it's a very good home made Tarama for sure. 10 out of 10 here!
