My wife and I were driving through Spain and really got lost so that we were cutting through Chane to get back to the main road after seeing Penafiel on our way... read more My wife and I were driving through Spain and really got lost so that we were cutting through Chane to get back to the main road after seeing Penafiel on our way by backroads to Salmanca. We turned off in Cuellar wrong, but just kept going on the new road to angle our way back. We stopped about noon in this little town of maybe 200 houses and I went in to Cafe Dani 's, actually turned around to go to it and I am glad I did. I went in and asked if they served comidas or only tapas and they brought me around the end of the bar to a 30x15 white leather chaired, tabled restaurant area. Immaculate and nicely appointed. We split a meal of pork loin, 4 pieces, with roasted red peppers, a large salad, wine coffee and dessert, all only 10E. It was one of the best meals we ate in Spain. If you can turn off the main road for a uniquely Spanish treat, try it. Coming from the north, it is on the right when you have almost gone through the town. I did not see a menu, and with most small restaurants, there is s menu of the day which is usually fish or meat with some choices you can dictate. Not much English spoken, but with a phasebook you will do fine. They were lovely people.
