A very cheery dining room filled with families and groups locals and visitors - cooking was good with an interesting menu - portions were large - service friendly and relaxed - a very pleasurable evening - definitely worth a visit if in the locality View all feedback.

Isolated restaurant a short drive from Bort-les-Orgues. There is a rustic décor to the interior and a friendly welcome from the staff. The good value menu du jour during the week offers 4 dishes for 18 euros. The main menu offers lots of choice (4 or 5 dishes per course) and is competitively priced at 22 euros for 4 courses. The food was all very good and nicely presented albeit served in generous portions. The one tiny error for me was that the excellent home-made apricot tart was spoilt by being served with an inappropriate strawberry sorbet. I suspect that this was an error of the serving staff rather than the chef.
We read many great reviews about La Grange aux Fleurs in the feedback book at the holiday Gite. Our lunch was truly memorable. The ambience was superb. The establishment was well patronized by the locals. The dining room is sombre with pleasing decor. The old kitchen range is still in place as are many of the original features. The antique wooden panels add a great authenticity. This charming tastefully converted barn is a wonderful place to sit and enjoy fantastic food. Every course was beautifully presented. Every morsel was a delight to the taste buds. The cafe gourmand was exceptional. I had the opportunity after lunch to meet the chef/patron and tell him how much we enjoyed his outstanding food and cooking. In the top 5 best meals we have ever enjoyed. A big thank you. The staff were pleasant, efficient and courteous.
We ate here one night when our host wasnt cooking and as her cooking was so good we were a little disappointed to have to eat out, but we had a really nice meal with very attentive staff and owner. It was very good quality food and surprisingly good value, we would go back.
I live in Champs sur Tarentaine and I am so lucky that this is my local restaurant. I have eaten here several times with my husband and with friends and family. The cuisine and the service are always of the highest standard and it is impossible for me to single out a dish as the best. It is the ideal place to celebrate as well as a place for a romantic diner a deux. Always busy and for a reason this is a really excellent country restaurant.
