we came to dinner without reservation because we had just arrived in champery. the personal was concerned, however, that we liked it and opened the upper it area for us so that we enjoyed maximum social disintegration! other guests came in later. the traditional rosti valaisienne. was really good. What Alex Wehrli doesn't like about L'Atelier Gourmand:
Le Nord is positioned as cosy mountainous food restaurant. It offers simple meals with a focus on cheese. Service is friendly and menu without surprise. However food was a little disappointing (very basic). And most annoying, you get the feeling of being a cow to...be milked. Prices are quite high for very basic food. You get fondu without any salad, or potatoes, or meat, for instance, for 25 chf (22 euros). And the waiters give the impression of being a bit pushy for you to order drinks and deserts. In short, the new management has brought greedy impression.
The best spot in Champery to visit in order to try properly made Fondue, Raclette and Rosti. The atmosphere is immediate, welcoming you into a haze of melting cheese!

Every time we spend a week in Champéry my husband and I always come here for at least twice for fondue or raclette. There’s a great atmosphere here and lovely local wine.
