Mole chicken wings were delicious. Mole himself was not too spicy or sweet on a neutral side. The enfrijoladas were perfect. It is my second time to eat here and the servers always offer a good service. I have to hear a lot of music from my teenagers and let me dance in my chair while I wait for the food. Authentic cuisine and excellent service. I came during mother’s weekend for lunch. It was fairly busy but we got seated right away. The server had serval tables but frequently checked in on us to make sure everything was going well. We ordered the salsa flight and I have to say I was impressed by the variety of chiles they used. I was initially a little disappointed by the amount of salsa by they made up for this by giving us a refill! By the time the entrees rolled around we were already pretty full. The food was hot and the flavors were as expected. I can only comment on the rice and beans because I went vegetarian that night but the flavor was spot on, complex and rich, not greasy or overly fatty. The sever made every effort to make sure we were satisfied. I plan on going back again to try their mole to get a better idea of their level of skill.
Just the best. I grew up eating authentic Mexican dishes through the family and I have to say that this restaurant meets the brand and is much better than any restaurant I've ever been and that's not just lip service. It was so good that I was in great mood all day, just because I discovered this place I can come back to. The products are made clear by scratches and it is well noticeable by the presentation and taste of the food before you ever find out by talking to an employee about it. The food speaks everything. First, the maizestortillas are unbelievable, with the same soft consistency of a flour tortilla, but with all fresh taste and perfectly chewi texture of a maize tortilla. I could fill these tortillas alone. Salsa is high quality and chips are made clear. The ordered articles were: • Queso Fondito w. Chorizo • Mega Tlacoyo • Beef Birria Tacos • Mango Margarita • Tamarind Margarita The chorizo queso was incredibly good, and the way it serves the cheese on the cast iron, it makes it a pleasure to get the bottom parts out and on its fresh tortillas the dish is served perfectly with the mega tlacoyo. I think something that the people of the photos of the plate might be wrong is that it could be hard to eat or not enough texture to him because it may be hard to say what is in the stack of foods at first sight, but it is really very easy to cut right into perfect squares where each and every bite is unusable and gives you some of everything without falling apart. The Rock Steak layer was noticeable, and the Tlacoyo base is very unique a soft homemade blue corn tortilla filled with a thin layer of brown beans. The cattle-borria tacos were the best I ever had in a restaurant or even from the family, down hands. They even go the extra mile of the actually cruising cheese on every tortilla before they knock generously their professionally cooked beef. The dip is very well balanced by being extremely tasteful, while not strong fat, so the taste does not on fat at all and strange enough, it actually sits quite easily on the stomach and does not run thick The margaritas were great and well paired with everything else I must mention that the prices here are extremely reasonable in the whole area. This was our first time, and I already know the calendar for the next time I will eat here again. The tortillas reminded me of my deceased Abuela, and I could feel the passion for large Mexican foods that are served by the staff through every plate they serve. Thank you to all on the Maize in the station team for your hard work. Our server was Jaselyne yesterday and she did a great job! Note: I have taken screenshots of other relevant photos since I was too busy to take photos, ha. These photos are a good illustration of what we had
Love this place, and we will be returning every time we visit the area! There are two locations, so be aware they are completely different. There is a small takeout restaurant with stool/counter seating on Green St., and there is a full restaurant at The Station. This is specific to The Station. The server we had was fabulous! He provided very helpful tips and explanations for questions we had on menu items. You'll find a full bar with a ton of really great drink options and a wonderful food menu! You'll find the expected, and then you'll find the unexpected! For instance, they have a salsa flight, which is a must try! It's generous, a fun way to sample the sauces while waiting for your food, and incredibly reasonable! There are squash blossom options that can be added to most options and a lot of great menu items to choose from if you're looking for vegetarian fare. You won't find any flour tortillas here. They are all handmade blue corn tortillas very fresh and delicious! Lots of convenient parking available right outside the restaurant. I highly recommend stopping here, whether you're visiting a student on campus or just in the area with friends or family. The food is absolutely delicious!
Our first stop after a long day of driving. So relieved to be greeted with super friendly staff, big portions of comfort food. The Chile relleno con Pechuga was so tasty. The hochata was a nice surprise. Not too sweet and pungent. Highly recommended.
Amazing rice and refried beans, probably the best in Champaign. Plenty of vegetarian options.
