for dinner (they have a sweet back room with half dozen tables available for walks) and had our best meal of days in chamonix. really interesting Japanese/Asian inspired dishes, with highlights like escape, bark meat bao and poched kalbsal tataki. all full of taste and beautifully presented. plus a rich chocolate pudding ultimate chocolate cake recommended. What denisetaylor doesn't like about Mumma:
The food is ok, lots of sugar added to it. The service is not so good. Too slow in between bringing it out. It came in dribs and drabs. The portions are tiny We had to wait 20 mins to get our drinks There is on girl tall with long curly type hair. Who just seems to prance around flirting with the men. No organisation or management There are much nicer places to eat in Chamonix. I won’t be back. I’ve tried this place... View all feedback.
Even though there was a surprise mix up with our hotel accidentally cancelling our reservation, it all worked out due to Mumma staff bending over backwards to find a way for us to eat dinner even though no tables were available. We ended up eating at the bar with just four chairs that is normally only allowed bar drinks. They and we compromised as they knew we had very much looked forward to this dinner. The food selection and drinks were wonderful. We ordered 9 dishes that we shared and they were all so tasty and delicious. Mumma is unique Asian fare that we greatly enjoyed. They 100% deserve all the excellent reviews and accolades! Set an alarm to book 10 days ahead to make sure you get a table at this small, but special restaurant!
Super friendly and quick service. Chill vibe, good food, everything you need after climbing the glaciers. Must visit, when you are at Chamonix
Found this gem too late to secure a reservation. On a whim, walked by early in the evening to discover there is a back room for walk ins only. Scored a very small table and absolutely enjoyed the Asian Fusion cuisine and super friendly service. Must order a cocktail the spicy vodka one was epic. We fought over the cauliflower and jalapeño/crab rice balls. The sweet potato flan was amazing. Thank you for a fab evening!
