The menu was wonderful: the foie gras- amazing, very different from what we’ve tried before highly recommend), gnocchi- a little lacking salt, but tasty; for entree- yellow pollock fillet defin worth of a try, and ROASTED BEEF TENDERLOIN my husband’s choice absolutely succulent;...the dessert pavlova cake and chocolate caramel mousse- were perfect! What Thérèse Simon doesn't like about L'Héliopic:
given the michelin bib gormand evaluation we were disappointed. the service lacked the warmth we experienced in other restaurants, and we felt something forgotten in the corner. eating had very good moments (brot, delicious pineapple dessert), but the interest and. the complexity of the aromes we expect from a restaurant of this kaliber. overall the gaumen was too rich and too sweet for us. we were surprised to have... This hotel was good but it has the potential to be AMAZINGOur room was extremely clean and I enjoyed the buffet breakfast.
The hotel itself was greatThe staff was not.
This is a great hotel in ChamonixThe rooms were very modern, clean, and comfortable with more than average amount of space for a European hotel.
I booked online for a family diner during our stay in Chamonix. Tje restairant is located in a nice hotel: l'Heliopic, quite cosy environment. The staff is professional starting from the daily menu briefing at the entrance and ending by the menu explanation. We had...foie gras wn deux facons, Noix st Jacques and Supreme de Poulet whi le my eldest son was tempted by the courses menu. The youngest kid had chicken supreme with hand cut fries. Food was amazing as well as the dessert. It is not the place to go if you like quiet atmosphere as it was loud the whole night but this is part of the concept and the whole experience. Good value for money for the semi gastronomic place. Will come back
Visited for my birthday in a week ago and could not have been better, the food was wonderful, and surprisingly inexpensive. The foie gras starter is a delight. Spent the whole meal with a great view of the mountains and the staff could not have...been more attentive. Full marks all round.
