Whilst... read more We lived in Sins and Oberruti 1988-1991 and decided to mark my husband’s 70 birthday with a return with our family, 9 in total ages from 18 months to 70! Whilst we lived there we regularly ate at restaurant Kauffman so it was on our memory list naturally and it was absolutely perfect as before and we all enjoyed our visit, the hospitality and food, thank you for being so welcoming.

It is run by the same family... read more The Restaurant Kaufmann in Alikon, not far from Zug is a brillant traditionel countryside restaurant in the Freiamt, canton Aargau. It is run by the same family for at least 250 years. I like the casual ambience, the service is lovely and speedy. We had mixed salad which was mit real fresh local ingridients, a porc steak and 'Älplermagrone ' a dish? of eaten in the Alps. Smal potatoe cubes are cooked with a swiss style penne and served with grated cheese, cream and served with fried onions. Most swiss eat this with applepuree as a side dish. I can recommend too the Bratwurst with onion sauce. If you are lucky september, october and november offer the Metzgete. This is a feast celebrating harvest end of year. The dishes offerd a the rural food from the good old past. You can seat inside or on the terrasse b low old chesnut trees.
