What Geetanjali Puri doesn't like about Les Sarments:
This small restaurant is in a good position in Pl de la Republique, but is closed on Mondays, and does not open until 1900 hrs. Service is on the slow side which is surprising as there are not many customers and the menu du jour should be available quickly. The food, when it arrives is well presented and well cooked but with the late opening, and slow service the meal is rarely finished before 2100 hrs, which is late... View all feedback.
We had a great dinner here, which I really cannot fault. The menu was diverse enough to suit most tastes, and they stock a good selection of wine from various French regions. Prices are very reasonable. The staff were friendly and efficient, the restaurant was very clean, and they were happy to accep my dog. I will happily eat there again if I am ever in Chalons.

We had a very good meal here the starter was delicious, but I have to say the duck that we both had to follow was a bit dry. But overall we certainly would go here again. The service was good, and the house wine also good. A very pleasant evening in a very nice town,
We got really lucky and stole the last table for 2. Excellent dinner and great service. Best meal we had in Chalons; highly recommended if you can get a table!
Our B&B host recommended this restaurant and we were fortunate to reserve the last available table . Service was prompt but not hurried, the options on the menu for the day were so enticing it was a difficult choice . We both had a seafood salad to begin excellent) then a sea trout and a leg of lamb for mains, strawberry millefeuille for dessert. 3 courses €29 with a very reasonable 50cl of rose to accompany . The restaurant was full with several couples turned away as they arrived on spec. The atmosphere was great , no tedious background music, just happy chatter . We enjoyed the whole evening enormously
