We consider that others have underrated this restaurant.

It was a nice surpris... read more Outstanding cuisine, delicate flavors… the place is cozy and pleasant. The staff is fantastic, welcoming, with a true smile on their face. It was a nice surprise in a small city like Vannes. We had wonderful fish dishes and a first class dessert, truly typical of Brittany, they call it “kouign-amann”, and you’ll never forget it. I recommend Le Gavroche without any hesitation!!! Go there to have lunch or dinner, you’ll be delighted.

The staff were as friendly and welcoming as always and the dining experience fabulous. We both started with the foie gras which was accompanied by an onion marmalade. For main my husband had a Toulousian cassoulet which he reports to have been full of meat and very tasty. I had magret de canard with parmentier which was cooked as I requested and tender and full of flavour. We plan to return when we are next in the area next June and am already looking forward to it!

I... read more My wife selected this restaurant because it was serving one of her favorite dishes, Blanquette of Veal. She enjoyed that dish very much when she was finished. I had the lamb shank and it was the best I have ever tasted. We had the three-course dinner at 25 euros each and the quality of each dish was exceptional. Serving each of us a small glass of rum at the end was a nice touch. Highly recommended.
