I had already sampled some absol... read more A local recommended this restaurant to me expounding on the excellence of their food so I had high expectations for this place. I had already sampled some absolutely wonderful restaurants in Ceuta, and the quality of restaurants in this town seemed to be above average. However my experience at La Barraca was beyond disappointing. I ordered salad and fish and was given olives and a small baguette to begin with. Warning ! they will charge you for the baguette even though they automatically give it to you. What restaurant restaurant charges their patrons for something like that ?! especially when you didn't order it?! The salad and fish was extremely underwhelming bland, bland, bland. Their prices are too high for what you get. The service could also use some work. The waitress was pushy, trying to get me to order an after dinner liquor even though I had made it clear I wasn't interested. Considering all the great reviews in 2013, the quality of this place has taken a nose dive since then. Avoid at all costs! McDonalds is right around the corner you'll be much happier eating there instead.

While we took different dishes we shared them as... read more While in the Parque Maritimo del Mediterraneo we went into this restaurant for lunch. It was really excellent. While we took different dishes we shared them as is our way of doing these things when we are somewhere where we are unlikely to return again soon. We had the cold meats platter and what can best be described as a Spanish style mixed grill. Both were prepared and served quickly along with a basket of bread and a bottle of excellent 5 year old Rioja Crianza at only 12 euros for the bottle. Lunch was only 36 euros including thw wine and service. Thoroughly recommended if you are in Ceuta. I think that if you go at night you don't have to pay a charge to get into the park.
