What Rodolfo Grasso doesn't like about Al Bosco:
invited by friends we had dinner in this restaurant known for weddings and various ceremonies. Nice garden and entrance with two bright braziers, well-kept interior and clean environment. The food left us a little doubtful, risotto cooked too much and insipid, poor quality meat and badly cooked. service with young and available waiters. I was there for a Christmas reunion with 15 friends and I did not have any special expectations about it . I was wrong. The 2 first dishes bis di bigoli al ragù d'anatra e risotto di funghi were absolutely delicious and the rice was made at the moment, so perfectly cooked. Then the mixed grilled meat was very tasty and fresh bacon, chicken, pork, with French fries and fresh salad. Also the 2 different red wines on the table were good. At the end they served a very tasty variety of home cooked dessert. All the food was served at the moment on your dish and they use to pass many times asking if you want more. We paid 22 euros also with coffee and digestive liquor free for anyone. The personnel is very gentle and professional and I'll go there again for sure. The only positive/negative thing is that it's so crowded an full of voices that sometime you need to scream to be understood by your friends on the table. If you are not far... don't miss this place.
My wife and I were out on a Sunday drive through the Italian countryside enjoying a recent break in the weather. The sun was out and the day was nice. We were looking for a place to eat and many of the places along our route were closed. We saw the sign for Al Bosco and drove past it for a while and decided to turn around to see if it was open. What a great decision it was. The place was full of families all enjoying their Sunday afternoon. We were greeted at the door and asked if we had reservations No we didn't. We were shown to a quiet table in one of their many rooms. the waiter promptly cam, took our drink order, and upon return took our meal order. The first plate were three types of bigoli. All were excellent. The duck sauce was our favorite. Next came the second plates. My wife had marinated sliced beef. Absolutely the best and most tender beef we've had in Italy. I had a mixed grilled platter of ribs, chicken, sausage, and pancetta. Again, an excellent meal. This is absolutely going on our list of places to take family and guests when they come to visit. We're going back for the Easter meal. Totally looking forward to the special occasion!
