Il Pozzo Dei Desideri - CERRETO SANNITA

We stopped into this restaurant for lunch just prior to leaving Cerreto for Naples. While my companion wanted pizza, they apparently don't do pizza on some afternoons (mind you, this is a tiny town, and their clientele is thus understandably limited). I had trofiette norcina and scaloppine alla valdostana; while neither are particular to the region, they were both surprisingly good. We also ended up with bruschette for an antipasto, which appeared to be on the house; it's always a revelation how amazingly good chopped tomatoes on toast can be when you're in Italy! The restaurant itself is cute and comfortable, the service was cordial, and the meal was very well prepared and highly satisfying. I was only disappointed that we didn't have a chance to return. If you're in Cerreto you'd do well to give this place a try.

I've been here a few times with my wife's Italian family. On this occasion there was only 10 of us. Since we last went 2 years ago, they have created a decked space outside which was ideal. Whilst the service can be a bit slow at times, the time passes quickly with great house wine flowing. Pizza's start at 4.5 Euros (And they are huge) but I always have the fish here. On this occasion I had Mussels with pasta, which is to die for, done Al dente its perfect. The rest of the group had mixed food dishes, pasta, pizza all washed down with house red and white.10 of us; starters, mains and many jugs of wine not even 100 Euros. Just Brilliant. We wanted to eat pizza (3.50-5€ but they only have it in the evening, so we 've chosen risotto con radicchio, because on the menu it was: min. 2 porz. for 8€ so we thought 8€ is fair for risotto for 2 (compare to prices of pizza and pasta and it was a terrible mistake. I love risotto but this was so awful I don 't even try to describe. We only eat the half of it because we were really really hungry. When we asked for the conto, I was surprised to see we were supposed to pay 19€?! 2x1,50 for the bruschetta e ricotta as Antipasti (didn 't order it, but it tasted loveky so it was OK I guess , and 2x8€ for the risotto. I asked the waitress/owner how come it 's 2x8€, and the answer was it 's not worth to make risotto for 1 that 's why we calculate. Outrageous. We paid and left still hungry. I suggest not to waste money here!

Very nice and familiar restaurant, the owner friendly and attentive to the requests. They offered us a bruschetta with pancakes. excellent cuisine! we ordered a starter with cold cuts, cheeses and vegetables, excellent! but the strong piece was the first dish! trophies with porcini mushrooms, sausage and cherry tomatoes! really recommended.also the great price
