Contribute Feedback What Sally Powell doesn't like about The Black Lion:
We booked a table for 4 the week before we were due to visit, when we arrived on the evening of the booking the female behind the bar could not find the booking, now that's fine because sometimes these things happen but she was in no way apologetic and did absolutely nothing to try and accommodate us, it was just a case of your names not down so you're not coming in!! As a result of her attitude we won't ever try aga... View all feedback.
Firstly the barman is really very kind and help us to find an Hotel for the next night. Just for this five stars. ther 2 clients joined to help us in this search (nice Welsh guy) The Environment is nice and the food is a typical wells food with good ingredients. I loved the crumpled rhubarb dessert.
... lovely place, quick and open-minded service by the guy who runs it. One of the best and largest gammon steaks I've ever had in more than 20 years of British pub food experience. Actually joined tripadvisor because of this place. What more can I say?
Wow ! What can I say, fantastic pub excellent food and dog friendly. Had the local lamb shepherds pie and gammon! Staff were very helpful polite and welcoming, it’s well worth a visit !
The Black Lion was one of the recommended places from the guest house I was staying at and what a good recommendation it was. Nice pint off felinfoel whlst I reviewed the menu. I started with garlic mushrooms with welsh cheese which was amazing followed by lambs liver with mash which was very tasty. Would have loved to try the rhubarb crumble but I was too full. In addition to the regular menu there were specials and I hope to visit again soon!
We had a nice meal, a couple of drinks and some interesting company here. Barman and landlady were helpful, too.
