25/1/23 Popped in here for a light lunch and wasn 't disappointed. The choice is great (see pictures) and very tasty. I opted for the winter veg soup which was a very generous portion filled with numerous veg and flavoured with ginger and chilli (homemade) together with a cheese and onion toastie followed by a pot of tea (which came with hot water. Yay! The whole lot came to less than a tenner which I thought was a bargain and certainly in line with other establishments in the area. If your in the area and like the personal touch instead of the usual 'grab it and go ' that 's on offer then I urge you to visit. All the food is delicious. You won 't be disappointed. 5
We visited Chives on both days of our recent short break in Aberystwyth and were given a warm welcome by the staff. The sandwiches were excellent and the home made cake delicious. Would highly recommend.
I used to frequent this restaurant when I worked in town and always enjoyed the delicious food and polite staff. However, during my recent visit for nostalgia's sake, I experienced rude and unprofessional service. There was a mistake in my order, which I didn't mind, but the server insinuated that I was trying to get free food. I left without eating, feeling very upset. Perhaps the server was having a bad day, but a simple apology would have been appreciated. Despite the probable delicious food at Chives, I will not be returning.
