Part of me wants to keep this place the quiet gem it is, but they deserve all the attention. What a great place for pastor and other items. The wait staff is so friendly. I got a great recommendation on my husbands meal.(Please remember you are in Mexico don't expect English) The marguritas were good as well. Just the atmosphere and the neighborhood makes this a hit. Located next to the more familiar Italian inspired La Tosca Trattoria restaurant, this is one of the most unreviewed authentic Mexican taco (and much more) places in Puerto Vallarta. I would encourage anyone who waits in line at the Zona Romantica area 's Panchos Tacos to try the Al pastor at Tacos Sonorita Versalles! I very much doubt you will be disappointed, The service is exceptional, and the variety of the menu (and sauces) is what you would expect at a local authentic Mexican restaurant........and AT VERY AFFORDABLE prices. We were first recommended this restaurant by a server at one of our favorite Marina Vallarta locations (Rincon de Buenos Aires) who stated he frequently ate there. Although many locals dine there (which should indicate something VERY positive), many of the wait staff are very English fluent. Why wait in line for an authentic Mexican food experience (although they do have hamburgers, French fires and several more familiar Canadian and USA items available), their margaritas (for me anyway) were much better than at most places because they were not the overly sweet ones you frequently have at other locations (theirs have a more citrus, lime taste, rather than the typical more sugared ones). However, you WILL be served quickly and if you are used to a leisurely dinner (particularly with music) you will need to expand your evening experience to other places afterwards. One place I would strongly suggest is eating on a Monday when Nachos Flores is playing at La Tosca Trattoria, which is next door. You must get a table close to his music and a bottle of their excellent wine (or after dinner drink selections) to finish your meal. The only very minor criticism I have, for Tacos Sonoirta Versailles, is I wish they had an alternative menu in English. However, the wait staff will easily explain the menu and Senior Google can help you with pictures and translations of the menu items. Please try this Versailles location if you want some authentic Mexican food at a good food location.
