What Jane Doe doesn't like about The Kind Bowl Somerset:
Food is good without being mind blowing. It’s not really ‘pan Asian’, it’s pretty much Vietnamese, if you ask me. Staff miserable and don’t crack a smile. Asking for something as simple a glass of water is met with an ambivalent expression. Don’t know why they don’t serve beer, at least. I wouldn’t hurry back. View all feedback.
Ordered their alliums free version 1. The Kind Pho Must try, won abillion Singapore Top 50 Vegan Dish Awards 2021 and 2022, super good, everything was perfect, most recommended. 2. No crab noodles The highlight here was the tasty vegan egg, soup was good too, recommended. 3. Southern Delight Refreshing and delicious. The mock meat inside tastes like beef jerky, but thin and chewy, not bad, worth trying. Updated from previous review on 2022-03-14
I've been craving pho for a long time and the pho here didn't disappoint and was amazing. The ambience is peaceful and cosy. Most importantly, the food is good. They also have bubble tea! With paper straws.
Been here for many times and the food quality is consistently good. Glad that the whole place serves veg food, but vegetarians that do not consume alliums have to inform when ordering.
It was crowded during lunch time. I was lucky to get a seat. I tried 2 dishes vegan pho and summer roll (requested for allium-free). Vegan pho comes with flat rice noodles in flavorful broth and topped with bean sprouts, king oyster mushrooms, mock chicken and fresh Thai basil leaves. I finished up the broth as it was so good! The fillings for summer roll include vermicelli, carrots, turnip, lettuce, cucumber and Thai basil leaves. It is coated with sesame seeds and served with an appetizing sauce. Love it!
Though there aren’t many choices on the menu, everything I had was tasty. The fried appetizers were flavorful (and moderately oily). The “No-Moo Iced Latte” is an interesting drink, with notes of licorice. On my visit, the service was all about transactional efficiency: the person at the counter seemed too focused on the mechanics of the task to return a smile or a hello, but at least they did get the orders out promptly.
