Feels like a food court from which you can choose which to eat and pay The black noodles and rice were salty to me, the spicy noodles was good like hot curry flavor. The nut milk tea was good! They have hot pot too definitely try later View all feedback.
What Jane Doe doesn't like about Makan Vegan Zhāi Zhè Lǐ Geylang:
It’s amazing to find a vegan food court, and I’ll give the food court five stars! However, the dry wanton noodles I ordered was fine but nothing special and mostly noodles, not much “meat” or greens. View all feedback.
Take a bus from Paya Lebar MRT to check out this little eatery. Lor mee or Yellow noodles with braised gravy is the item I order for. No hint of msg or anything. The gravy is not saltish It comes quite close to the meat-version. The eatery claims no msg is used so I take their word for it. The location is alright with me as you can take 175 from Paya Lebar MRT. The price is fair.
Delicious vegan fare that’s super cheap and served in a unique atmosphere!
Tried their wanton mee, mushroom spaghetti burger set today. Wanton mee was super good!!! Burger set was good! Mushroom spaghetti was a no go for me, the spaghetti sauce wasn’t even creamy and its kinda tasteless and the spaghetti portion was small. Western stall was on the pricey side. Very value for money and delicious food. We ordered the wonton mee and fish slice bee hoon soup. Wonton mee (dry) seems very popular, and is pretty ok. I really liked the wonton which I suspect uses Omni. The char siew is a bit different from regular gluten based one, more soft and not very chewy. Personally I prefer the more gluten kind. Veg a bit undercooked. Noodles themselves are good, but I order the wonton soup next time. Fish slice bee hoon soup is the star of our dinner. The soup is a rich seaweed flavor, the soy fish is perfectly fried. Also ordered a Three Color bubble tea which technically is wheatgrass milk tea? Looks very nice, taste like regular milk tea.
The first fully vegan and allium-free coffeeshop in Singapore! Located between Aljunied MRT and Paya Lebar MRT. Part of their proceeds go to support “The Makan Initiative” providing free meals for the elderly and needy. The menu features reasonably priced and tasty local delights, some of which are specials only available during specific hours in the day. My favourite is the vegan fish bee hoon and stinky fried tofu which are pretty hard to find in Singapore! (Special stinky fried tofu event is held on Fridays 8-10pm; visit their Facebook page to pre-order) Update in Nov 2022: The stalls have been refreshed! They are no longer selling Western food and prata. Some new additions include yong tau foo, nasi lemak with OmniFoods golden fish fillet, and finger food! Do also check out the nearby Makan Vegan Ba Kwa retail shop which opened in Sep 2022! Selling handmade Omni mince meat bak kwa in 4 flavours (BEST vegan bak kwa I have ever eaten), chilli sauce, vegan kaya, etc. Updated from previous review on 2022-11-20
