Excellent Spanish food, friendly down-to-earth staff, classy mom-and-pop ambience. Crossed the street to dine here after we missed our train by a few minutes and ended up taking it slow and enjoying a nice meal. I had a superb mix of mashed plantain in delicious gravy-like sauce (garlic-styled or creole) with a choice of protein. A unique dish packed with flavor in every bite. Dining partner had the fried fish fillet... View all feedback.
These people are so rude. Not only that but they gouge the price up and give little bit of food on the plate. And food isn't all that,. Bien mal

I absolutely love El Pilon. Wonderful service and very friendly staff! The food is always fresh and made to order! Great food every time I order!!
Nice decor...Mofongo was good! prices comparable to other restaurants for same
I'm sorry, I hate giving such a bad review when the people that work at the establishment are fairly cordial, but the food here isn't good. After the 1st time I went I swore I would never go back but 5 months later due to a few other stores closing due to Covid my son asking if he could order something. I'll start with the beans, no seasoning and watered down the same for the yellow rice. (How does they happen? The pork chop was hard and dark in color I want sure if it was grilled or pan seared. The beef tasted spoiled and the chicken was dry like sawdust. This place seems to get business but I honestly don't understand how I've NEVER been to a Latin restaurant where the food doesn't have flavor. Some better than others of course. I've eaten in Brooklyn, Bronx, Queens, Hempstead/Nassau and Suffolk and I honestly have to say this is one of the worst places flavor wise I have ever eaten.
