We rushed here just before our theatre slot was about to start as we were quite hangry. The food came very quickly, tasted very good with quite a lot of lobster in the bun. I loved that they slightly fried the bun a little bit, delicious. The service was warm, kind and fun with a casual undertone, exactly what a place like this should be. Nothing seemed like a bother to any of the staff and they really showed that th... View all feedback.
What harri s doesn't like about Bob's Lobster At Terrace:
Was really shocked and sad to learn that the wait staff don't get ANY of the service charge here. Really you should be reported to trading standards, if the wait staff don't get any of the service charge and it all goes to management then it's not a service charge it's a management charge. You're deceiving your customers and doing your staff a disservice. A real shame as the staff were exceptional and the food was go... View all feedback.
The service at the terrace is terrible. Really inattentive, everyone staff member looked nervous and shaky serving any drink or food. 2 items we ordered weren’t put on bill so we reordered and then they brought at 4 of them just really messy Look bobs lobster good is amazing. The one in London Bridge is fantastic so if you want the food go to the London Bridge one and avoid the terrace
Let’s start with the positives – the food tasted good. Now for the negatives – quite a few to review – but here are the headliners: the staff looked like rabbits caught in headlights – pleasant – not their fault but clearly under trained and at the prices charged you don’t want to hear “I don’t know what it’s like – I’ve never tasted it” – your menu is not extensive so at the very least let your staff answer questions from experience… then we had the floor managers having ‘heated’ conversations with waiters right behind our seat trying to figure out which table ordered what – I may as well have joined in and directed the chaos myself… then there is the ambience, we should have sat outside because the view of the South Bank would have provided distractions, because inside we were the only table and the space had as much atmosphere as the inside of a ping pong ball… and lastly we have the prices, as I said the food was tasty, but so overpriced – if you’re going to charge these prices you can’t just rely just on decent food, you really need to work harder on service, ambience and basics like utensils (the cone holder you use for fries – even with the paper lining they fall over the place! …. I asked when the restaurant opened expecting to be told “2 days ago so we’re still finding our feet” – I would have been super sympathetic – but two months on it shouldn’t be this problematic… and here’s the real downer – we went for a pre show dinner – and the experience ended up playing on my mind during the show – which isn’t great for a theatre restaurant!... so I have no reason to give it a second go – which is real a pity…
We dined here tonight pre theatre. Cocktails and wine took 20 mins to be delivered. We asked about food after 40 mins of sitting there. Starters never arrived and main lobster rolls arrived just in time for us to bolt them down before going to our seats in the theatre. To be honest at £121 for 2 it was not a great experience and we were by no means the only table to be kept waiting for extended periods of time. Service was friendly but chaotic. Shame that all of this spoilt what should have been a delightful pre theatre dining experience.
Really poor service, given sparkling water instead of still, had to ask for cutlery and napkins. Crab roll overpriced huge delays to get food, and very disappointing when it arrived, only plus, the fries were good!
Ordered taco with mushrooms Received 4 gem lettuce leaves with a bit of mushroom mush for £12. We also ordered a crab roll bit of crab mayo in a greasy bit of bread £18 had to wait 5minutes for cutlery after meal ? Served Overpriced and underwhelming
