Jkq Bbq - Central City

I love blackhawk Colorado and while there are some phenomenal restaurants at the casinos some of which know it and charge 100 dollars for a steak JKQ BBQ which was a short walk from our hotel was amazing and a quarter the price. We had the BBQ sampler. The brisket was delicious, the potato salad was creamy and fresh, I got a real aftertaste of celery in the cole slaw which was kinda weird but not bad. The staff was friendly and attentive, the BBQ sauces were great hot was actually spicy and the mild was kinda sweet the only complaint I have was the ribs. They were dry and tough, they came with no bbq sauce on them which i think a few min back on the grill with some sauce would have helped a lot. The flavor was there, they were just tough. Dont let that dissuade you, it doesnt me. I'll be back for sure.

We loved this place! The building itself was worth stopping to see but the food, staff and drinks made the experience worth visiting again and again. We started with the nacho app, then brisket sandwich, ribs, salmon blt and finished with the spiced cake. Everything was perfect!

Probably one of the WORST BBQ restaurants I’ve been too in a long time.Food:Everything was very dry and lacked any flavor, even got one of our orders wrong but by the time the food came out (OVER an hour) we just ate what was on the plate. Ribs were so dry and tough, I don’t think my dogs would even eat it. Absolutely terrible food.Service:Only two waitresses in the entire place so you can only imagine how slow it was. People who came in afterward got their food before us, I guess we always have bad luck in getting sat at the slow side. The couple next to us said they have been there for two hours…Atmosphere:Way too many windows (with no shades) sun blaring from car windshields doesn’t make it fun to sit at any table. It can also get very loud, as we need hearing protection from the kids screaming from the table over. All around terrible experience.I would NEVER recommend this place to anyone, we would’ve had better luck with food at a casino.

The food was ok but expected a lot more for the price. $20 per person should be good eating and it came up very short not one person in my party ate their entire meal due to the flavors.

Super friendly service! Delicious food, appropriate portions, lovely building with history that's clean and well maintained. They didn't have the ingredients for what I ordered but subbed ones for another to make up for it. Very good.
