I had a nice dinner, but I placed a takeaway order to be picked up a few hours later. I arrived half an hour early, hoping to grab a coffee while they finished cooking, but to my surprise, my order was ready half an hour ahead of schedule. After the 2.5-mile drive home, my meal was cold. However, I warmed it up, and it turned out to be delicious and quite generous in portion size. After 30 years, it’s still the best... Didn't receive the bhajis. Was told they'd deliver it but an hour later it still hadn't come. Then they said they'd refund me and get a driver to drop the money in but they never did. The paneer was tiny and cooked rock solid (inedible) and the rest of the food was cold. Will certainly not be using these guys again! View all feedback.
Viceroy indien is family-run and offers very personal service and super cooked food. it is located on the main road with convenient parking. why not try. they will not be disappointed.
The best Indian restaurant in the area. Very friendly staff. I find the meat is frequently too tough, generally quite fresh and varied sauces. Great onion bhajis. They offer 10% off all takeaway orders, so particularly good value when dining at home. Website is good but doesn't allow for delivery to Henlow; only mentioned at the final checkout stage.
As far as I'm concerned it's the best Indian food restaurant in town . The take away is great and the sit in is top. My only faults are it could be warmer for the sit dowm (temperature) and the menu's need a tidy up but that is it.
I 'd usually give this restaurant/takeaway 5 stars as we have been ordering there for well over a year, nearly every week. However sometimes, last night was one of those times, the food is just sub-par. I think it is a case of a different chef. I normally get a chicken tikka masala, done without nuts and cooked to a dark red perfection. Annoyingly, there have been a few occasions where it has come out light orange, lumpy and tasting of not more than water. Last night was one of those ocassions, except it did not say 'no nuts ' even after being confirmed and actually left me quite sick. I 've usually just eaten the curry when it hasn 't been nice as my partner doesn 't like to cause a fuss, however even he described it as 'water ' last night and neither one of us could eat it. I did call the restaurant to let them know we think there had been a mistake, which to their credit they offered to bring a new one out but by this point I had already been sick and couldn 't think of anything worse than seeing another similar curry. After that they tried to rush me off the phone saying 'next time we discount ', although as it stands, we 're unfortunately not sure there will be a next time through fear of a repeat of last night, especially when no nuts is of huge importance. I would however usually recommend them to anyone, with the exception of a few 'off nights ', as the majority of the time you can except a good quality curry with decent service.
