What SCOTT RUGBY doesn't like about The Chequers Inn:
As previous review found the owner very rude and it seemed that he couldn’t be bothered to serve us. Food was below average, don’t think it was cooked fresh. View all feedback. What User likes about The Chequers Inn:
I will give this time these 4 stars as we use the chippy much, but unfortunately I think they must have been hurried because our fish and chips were not great this time, I must be honest with my reviews normally fantastic, but this time was teig very thick and wet in medium tassen were not completely cooked. as I say, we use them a lot and are fantastic, everyone has a bad day at any job,do not hold this most importa... read moreNestled in a vibrant community, this restaurant offers a mixed dining experience. While some patrons rave about the superb Sunday roasts and warm, friendly atmosphere, others have found themselves disappointed by overcooked dishes and dwindling portion sizes. Menu options range from delicious fish and chips to tasty tapas, though consistency seems to be an issue, with several diners noting a decline in quality. Despite occasional service missteps, particularly regarding takeout versus dine-in confusion, the establishment remains a popular choice for family gatherings, offering reasonably priced meals and a welcoming environment. Overall, it’s a restaurant with potential, albeit with room for improvement.
Always good food and service with a smile. Best of all its cash only. Need to keep cash alive
