I came here with my friends who live in Cadalso. The food was really delicious. There is no menu, the chef will explain what’s available on the day. We ordered medium rare beef which came with tomatoes and potatoes. All very tasty and generous quantity. My vegetarian partner got Monte Enebro cheese and Salmorejo. I would recommend trying as many dishes as possible. Overall we had a fantastic experience.
A gastronomic delight, to enjoy without rushing, we make an hour and a half trip just to go eat there. The star dish is stew in a clay pot cooked in a fireplace with oak wood. You can ask for a tasting and thus try the rest of the things that Carlos offers you, which will depend on the day. Everything is spectacular, made with care and love. It is obvious that he loves what he does. what he does and he transmits that to you. He prefers to give fewer tables but serve them more personally. He gave us approval for a spectacular oil of his own, he gave us a very good tomato, a boy passed by with a basket of chanterelles, he left us a few and Carlos made them for us on the grill right there, for free…. It's quite a luxury. We will be back soon.
La Carpinteria is a very original restaurant. It does not stand out for its decoration. It is simple and the dining room is not very cozy. With different lighting it would improve a lot. But the strong points are the quality of their dishes, the friendly service and the dedication they put into it. The owner Carlos, a real character and very friendly, produces his own wine, goes to the mountains to look for some ingredients and uses many local products in his kitchen. We ate very well at a correct price.
