Was Marian Klein at Behm's a mag?
This is the best place for Walleye! The dishes are consistently excellent and perfectly cooked. You'll also find the biggest roasted pork tenderloin sandwich you’ve ever seen, and it’s fantastic! I’ve never had a bad meal here. Be sure to try the turtle soup—it's a must! View all feedback.

I enjoyed the pleasant atmosphere by the lake, with cool breezes enhancing the experience. However, the service felt a bit off—more focused on their tasks than on us as customers. I was disappointed when I received the bill; it didn’t itemize our food orders, so I had no idea how much we were charged for individual items like the $8.95 cheeseburger or the $3.49 sides. Instead, we were handed a total of $68.00, which, after adding a tip, came to $80. With a family of four, including a 7-year-old and a 2-year-old, we felt uneasy about the overall cost, especially since we’ve never spent this much at other lake restaurants.
After being seated, a young lady, probably in high school, took our drink and appetizer orders. We decided on the fried Brussels sprouts, which were just okay. My husband ordered the walleye, but unfortunately, it came with all the bones still in it. I ordered the single fried fish, and we both got side salads. However, the salads didn’t arrive until after our main dishes were served, and we ended up taking them home because I didn’t want to create a fuss over the timing. We had to ask for drink refills while the staff stood around chatting, despite there being no other customers inside. I understand there might have been takeout orders, but no one seemed to be in a hurry, and we were in plain view. When the bill came, I noticed that the salads were priced higher than the menu stated. Instead of addressing my concern directly, the young lady insisted I was mistaken, and her coworker chimed in to back her up. At that point, I was already frustrated about having to take two salads home, so I chose to cut my losses. We likely won’t be returning to this restaurant.

This is a nice spot to enjoy a meal and unwind. The roasted chicken and cheeseburger were both excellent. The chili cheese dish was also impressive; the chili had a unique, slightly sweet flavor that I really liked. The service was prompt and satisfactory, though not exceptional. The restaurant is situated by the docks at the lake, adding to its charm.
We had a fantastic experience at this local restaurant by Grand Lake, directly across from St. Mary's, Ohio. The view of the lake and the newly renovated property is stunning. The food was excellent, and we particularly loved the half-pound burgers paired with thick, freshly cut fries—they were delicious! I've heard that many people also rave about the fish and chips and the pork tenderloin. The meal prices are very reasonable, typically ranging from $8 to $10, and the portions are quite generous. The service was friendly and efficient, making our visit even better. Observing the ongoing renovations was interesting, especially since they installed new large-screen TVs on the terrace the same day we visited. Overall, it was a wonderful dining experience!
We had lunch at Behms today and it was absolutely delicious and our waitress was great! Great service, great food! We recommend you!
Fun, on-the-lake atmosphere, good food, vey nice staff in restaurant! Patio area in back allowed us to have our dog with us. Boats can pull right up in the channel and moor and then go in and eat. Reasonable prices too! If you enjoy being seated near the water, this is a nice hometown place to go. Behm's Lighthouse is literally right across the channel, but unless you have a boat or want to swim across, you can't access it from there. (And I wouldn't recommend going into the water currently, as there are signs everywhere saying that bacterial levels are dangerous. Pretty day to enjoy some food beside the water!
