Osteria Bacchus - Cefalu

We have enjoyed an amazing lunch and an even more amazing dinner at osteria Bacchus this week while staying in a villa in cefalu. Seated on a cliff overlooking the ocean, this family owned and run restsurant delivers one of the most authentic, delicious eating experiences of our 5 weeks in sicily! The fresh fish fileted tableside is so tender, flaky and delicious. Everything (especially the fish) is so fresh. They made fish and pistachio pasta with the fish remaining on the bones (of course no bones when it's served) which was served with fresh tomatoes and pistachios and was one of the most delicious pastas we've all ever had!! It's an 8 minute drive from cefalo in the charming hillside town of Saint ambrogio.. BEST MEAL IN 5 WEEKS IN SICILY! (And ridiculously inexpensive...dinner for 6 with 4 bottles of wine was less than 200 euro). If you want to taste the real deal head to Osteria Bacchus.

I thought we might have had bad luck the first time we came, but the second visit was just as bad as the first. It takes forever to get anyone to take your order. Drinks are served in plastic cups. Nothing is available in English and if you ask more than 1-2 questions, they will tell you in no uncertain terms, that they don’t have time for you. Both times they forgot 1/4 of what we ordered, including one of the main dishes. By the time it was finally delivered, everyone else at the table had finished eating. No apologies were made. There’s only one reason to come here, and it’s the setting, but you can get that elsewhere and it does not make up for the bad service. Would not recommend.

Fantastic views over Chefalu bay. The food was exceptional and we were offered adjustments to suit tastes/size of diners.

Magnificent view over the coast and Cefalù. very nice waitress. very good appetizer from local specialties. excellent grilled fish. pay attention to the choices, the amount of each course is great! good price-quality ratio.

In una piccola frazione di Cefalù, s. ambrogio, questa deliziosa scoperta. durante il nostro soggiorno abbiamo soggiornato 2 volte ma sempre e solo per gli aperitivi, eccellenti, così come i bei antipasti che servivano per accompagnarli.
