We were traveling from Grand Rapids to northern Michigan on 131. Took about a 10-minute detour to hit Cedar Springs and we’re DELIGHTED to discover The Red Bird. Specialty cocktails, especially the Cucumber-Jalapeño Margaritas were excellent and a nice, varied menu that made this little town a GREAT place to stop. View all feedback.
What Cathy Tonneberger doesn't like about The Red Bird:
I checked the website which stated they were open until 9:00, but when I arrived at 7:45, I found out they were actually closing at 8:00. Due to this, we decided to order takeout. Unfortunately, the dressing was left out of our salad order and the fish tacos were very disappointing. The portions were also not sufficient for the prices charged. I was shocked to see that the total for a salad, fish tacos, 1 beer, and 2... View all feedback.
We had a very enjoyable lunch here on our way home from up north. We rarely get to Cedar Springs even tho we've heard there are good restaurants in the area. We'd had a large breakfast so a light lunch sufficed grilled cheese for my wife and the beet and goat salad for me. The salad was especially delightful with spinach, arugula, pecans with white balsamic dressing. Their menu is eclectic with many intriguing items we'd like to try next time. It's a cheery and bright place and Beth was personable and helpful.
Dipped in for lunch. Turkey sandwich and fries. Really good. Clean place, friendly service, cool decor.
Second time dining at this establishment and both times we have thoroughly enjoyed it. The food is fresh, cooked perfectly and tasty, the service is outstanding. We had a relatively large party the first time and got seated right away on a Saturday night. Overall great experience. Second time had a larger party and reserved the small room upstairs. Same great food and great service. Julie was fantastic to work with in reserving the room, especially given it was on a holiday weekend. Rikki was our lone server and she was great in taking care of 15 people all at once. Would definitely recommend this place to anyone and will visit there again in the future. Thank you for taking such great care of us!
We stopped on our way up north with about 15 mins till the kitchen closed the waitress was super nice told us to order quick so we could get food. We both shot from the hip without really looking at the menu. We got a burger that was probably the best burger I’ve ever had and fish tacos that were amazing. The music the kitchen was playing that we could hear made for a nice atmosphere to eat a late dinner in. The restaurant itself had a good style to it and was very clean. It’s super easy to get to from the highway as well. I definitely recommend this restaurant and plan on going back.
My husband and I stopped in here on our way back from my grandbaby's funeral. The server was so patient about my food restrictions. The gluten free buns for the burgers are fantastic. The burgers were so amazing. We will be stopping in again the next time we are going through. We were both completely comfortable in there. Absolutely fantastic.Dietary restrictions: They are extremely helpful and they do offer gluten free options and dairy free options. I'm impressed.
