The staff is always very friendly and super fast. I love Steak Fajitas for lunch. The only criticism I have is that I feel that the noon chaps need 1-2 more tortillas. Another great place View all feedback.
What Harmon Boyle doesn't like about El Rancho Mexican:
It must be a new establishment. It used to be the best Mexican food in Costa Rica, but it’s now quite bland and generic. It's not bad, but definitely lacking in excitement. View all feedback.

The first time I tried El Rancho, it was okay. We liked the food and the prices, but it was nothing special and the interior of the restaurant left something to be desired. The service was not rude, but also not very helpful, but that was years ago. Recently my husband and I decided to give them another attempt and OMG I am happy that we did. They changed everything. The food is phenomenal and the prices are good what you get. I think it is the same menu simply redesigned foods to be better prepared. The service is amazing, we were back a few times only last month and both food and service was amazing every time. The biggest change is the interior. They now have very brightly painted scenes on the stanchions, chairs and tables. The configuration is much more appealing, and it revolves around a better restaurant. The bottom we found is very loud when they are busy, but the food and service is so good that it makes more than for them. Also, it is easy to avoid their busy times, they usually have a good amount of customers, but if they have space they do not pack them all in one area so that each table does not have to talk about the one next to him to have conversation, so I think they are very aware of the desires while it is busy. So if you don't want to tolerate a Maelstrom of the conversation or just want to hear your date, I recommend you go here if they aren't full, what about what we found is usually Friday at the height of dinner rush.
This place is really good. The flautas and the house made guacamole I had were very tasty. Our waitress was new and we were a party of 9, so our service was a little slower. Nevertheless, this place seems pretty authentic. The staff are all Hispanics too. Only downside is they don't serve horchata!
Very clean and nice restaurant with a Mexican atmosphere, loved it. Good salsa and chips. We had a burrito with rice and enchiladas which we both enjoyed. Very good service. Would go back again and recommend to others. Debated between rating a 4 or 5. Went with a 4 because it 's not our favorite salsa or ranchero sauce. But still very good.
Fajitas had good flavor but maybe a little more seasoning on them would be good. Portions are beyond generous, service is prompt and friendly. Chips salsa are decent, too. Would definitely go back for other menu items
