This location is busier than the one in Leander, and I missed the quiet. The food was still good and service was mostly attentive (my waitress forgot to add my dessert to my ticket, so it took awhile for that to be corrected and to pay). Overall, it was a good dining experience. View all feedback.
What User doesn't like about Mouton’s Bistro:
This was our first time to this location. It was good food and service. The ambiance was a little more challenging for me. It was just loud. The room is not treated well for sound. The bar area was noisy and you could hear conversations across the room. It was distracting. The vibe of the place is set by the typical sports bar scene. TVs everywhere... it’s distracting when you want to focus on the people and there’s... View all feedback.
First visit in this restaurant. it wasn't disappointed. the breakfast was still served, so I ordered the three black omelettes. Try it if you like meaty omelettes. the restaurant was pretty busy, which is a good sign. I'll try again if I'm looking for a good food in the opposite.
I love her french brot, which they delivered from new orleans. they could be a bit more generous with the content of muffaletta. crawfish dip was amazing. the only image that made it tonight was the chocolate cheese cake. it was delicious!
Visited austin and searched for a place that served shrimp pool! I'm so glad we found this place! we ordered the Gator bites as an appetizer and they were crispy and fresh. my friend ordered the chicken pliers with fries he loved and filled up. I have my shrimp pair boy and was absolutely satisfied! I wish I hadn't lived so far, I would have ordered one. there was a sign on the door that said, short staff, but our server was very attentive and friendly.
Chicken fried steak was huge and pretty good. Do not order any gumbo or etouffee to go though, the portions are tiny! I've ordered dine in for both dishes and the difference there is when you order them to go is beyond ridiculous. I felt so ripped off, I wish I would've remembered to take pictures of them. Service was great though.
Coffee was good and the service was excellent. I had the Shrimp, Grits, Eggs, side of sausage and a biscuit. The shrimp was seasoned very well and was definitely the highlight. Eggs were cooked as ordered. The grits didn't seem to be seasoned at all ? , but I handled it with the S P at the table. I was a little surprised by that. The sausage was undercooked and room temperature. Biscuit was also room temperature...it never did melt that butter. ; I grew up in Louisiana and recently moved to Austin from the MS gulf coast, so I'm not giving up on this place. I'll be back for another try, but probably not for breakfast.
