What Ardella Wunsch doesn't like about Cedar Mountain Cafe:
This place was hit and miss. The fried chicken fingers were quite good and juicy. I wanted more sauce on the catfish tacos(pictured . The southwest burrito (pictured had a nice spice but the chorizo wasn't very flavorful. My son wanted more cheese and onions/peppers to cover the meat on his Philly sandwich but the flavors were good. I would have given 4 stars but 3 things knocked it down: 1. Having to wait for 45 min... View all feedback.
If you're ever in the western SC-NC border region, or even Greenville or Asheville, it's worth going out of your way to eat here. We just had three bests in our short patronage of the place: best breakfast we ever had anywhere (fried chicken biscuit with sausage gravy and eggs), best fried chicken, and best bacon that has probably existed since the invention of bacon. Friendly informative staff is a real pleasure to deal with too. Just wish they opened earlier.
There is nothing about this place that I don't like. I've been going here for years. Food: 5 Service: 5 Atmosphere: 5
I 'm visiting the area and staying in the countryside, so food options nearby are limited. Upon entering, I was greeted by the light skin black girl, gave me a menu and said I could sit in two different places. The place wasn 't crowded (only a couple), so I wasn 't sure why she was trying to be so specific. Ten minutes later she returned to take my order. I thought it strange that she greeted and took orders, but nevertheless, I ordered bacon (extra crispy) grits, sausage, scrambled eggs, asked them to be hard, but not too hard. She asked 'medium hard ' and I said that would be fine. When she brought my order, I didn 't have scrambled eggs, I had eggs over easy. I told her that I ordered scrambled eggs and with an attitude, she said she thought I said eggs over easy. I have never ordered eggs over easy in my life.I had already started eating the other items, and she was going to take back the entire order. I said, 'no I just need the eggs scrambled. ' She left with an attitude, mumbling it 's been a long day . It was only 8:30 a.m. When she brought the scrambled eggs, she just rudely sat them down on the table and didn 't even bother to apologize--no manners what so ever. If she spent less time on her cell phone, she could concentrate on getting orders correct. The bacon was excellent, the grits were runny, the sausage and scrambled were ok.

During my visit to the area, I dined at this restaurant twice—once for breakfast and once for dinner. Both meals were outstanding, and the staff was friendly and attentive. The prices were also very reasonable. I'll certainly return for another meal. It was a fantastic experience! Service: Dine-in Meal type: Dinner.
