Was Teenie Bean at George's Local a mag?
The service was really good. Christina was attentive and took really good care of us. The Mac n cheese could have been cooked a little more, but the smash potatoes were so good! I ordered a medium rare and it was more on the medium side. Although it is a gorgeous restaurant, it is so cold that I felt like I was racing nature to get my food down before it went cold. What Rick Sego dislikes about George's Local:
Overall, it appears to be a pleasant restaurant with a clean environment and friendly staff. However, the space feels a bit cramped, making it difficult to have a close conversation due to the noise from lively patrons. Our waitstaff was somewhat scarce; we only saw him three or four times, and he didn’t offer to refill our drinks or deliver our food—another server brought our meals instead. The food was mediocre at... View all feedback.
This place is top tier. Easily the best biscuits and gravy ever along with the best steak and eggs. No other breakfast place in the Cedar Valley comes close to George's.
I've eaten here twice, and have enjoyed the lunch options. The food is good, service is attentive, and the environment is clean and has a new feel to it. The music is louder than a typical restaurant, and I was able to notice adult themes and curse words in the songs, which may limit who I dine here with. A good option for dining alone and I've received fast service during the lunch hour.Kid-friendliness: This is not a kid friendly environment.
Lovely dinner option! Service was perfect. Atmosphere was inviting and we loved the music! The Beast Burger was our favorite, closely followed by the tasty Brussel Sprouts. We'd suggest some sort of a sauce or a moistened meat in the beef tacos, plus a new salsa recipe. We'll be back!
We got 12 oz new york strips and the meat was really good, just slightly overcooked. The tuna tots are a whole different story, the tuna was good, although not cut super pristinely. The rice tot thing was so hard my fork barely wanted to go into it. It looked super interesting, but honestly not worth the money to even try, it’s not a very well thought out dish for how well put together it looks visually.
I visited while on a work trip and during a blizzard! I was seated during brunch but was able to order lunch. The couscous salad was topped with fresh arugula. I added shrimp for more protein. The flavors of the dish were great! The hot tea came in an antique tea cup that I couldn’t stop gushing over! The atmosphere was nice and the music was on point! I was happy they were open despite the weather. If you’re looking for flavorful food I’d highly recommend visiting George’s Local!
