What imonster doesn't like about Healthy U:
I went yesterday, 19th Feb around lunch time and to my surprise no one was there. Not sure if it was closed since there's no signage, I also checked their Fb and it's not updated, not sure if they are still on business. The shop was empty but it seemed open, couldn't ask anyone since there's no one around. Would be great if they can update their Fb so people would know if they are still on business or not. I had a wonderful experience at this charming restaurant. It may be off the beaten path, but it is definitely worth the visit. The food was bursting with a variety of flavors and I left feeling completely satisfied.
Located in Cebu's University district, this charming cafe offers an authentic dining experience with a variety of flavorful and affordable options. The ambience may be a bit crowded and cafeteria-like, but the availability of delicious vegan dishes made the experience enjoyable.
We had about 6 different dishes here today and oh my goooodness me, so so delicious. Be sure to visit if coming to Cebu!
They offered 6+ dishes, 1 soup, white rice, 1 juice, and vegan cookie. We tried 5 out of the 6 dishes and really liked the potato curry. I also liked the vegan cookie, though it was a bit dry. Unless you go to Southwestern or live near here, it is a bit difficult to find. However, it is good that it is right next to Shiv Dal Roti (vegetarian). This is a typical Filipino karendaria style place. The food is already prepared and you can pick which dish you want. There is no a/c so it may be warm or hot. If you are not used to traveling in Asia and eating street food, please be warned, and take probiotics to avoid any possible intestinal issues. There were signs that said they offered other items, but apparently they don't make them anymore. And they did not have fresh soymilk or tofu, as described in the info about this restaurant.
This hidden gem of a restaurant may be small and easy to overlook in an alley, but the food at Healthy U is definitely worth seeking out. In a city with limited vegan options, Healthy U stands out for its delicious dishes. They offer a variety of combos where you can choose rice with mock meats, vegetables, and sides, all served buffet-style. The portions are generous and the prices are excellent. It's a great spot for breakfast or lunch, but make sure to go early as options can run out and the food may not be as fresh later in the day. The restaurant's opening and closing hours may be inconsistent. While there are signs indicating that the restaurant is fully vegan, there have been some mixed reviews about the use of eggs in certain dishes. Definitely worth a visit for tasty vegan fare.
