What Jon Conway dislikes about Covered Bridge:
Our waitress acted like we were a nuisance and not a customer. She said she would come back and bring us more coffee but never did. Brought us our bill with our food and never came back to check on us. We really wanted pie but was never even asked if we wanted any to go with our cold coffee. The young girl who took our money was as rude as the waitress. We have been here several times but unfortunately this will be t... View all feedback.
We have heard rave reviews about this place. So, living out of state currently, and visiting family, this restaurant was suggested. We came in at 7:00pm on Friday, June 13th. It was busy but not crazy busy. We were a large group who came in. We were greeted by a pleasant server who took our drink order. He was however replaced by a very curt, no nonsense waitress who ended up slamming down the kids dinner plates and the bill. She must have have had a very rough day. I hope she is not like that daily. My husband and I had the chicken noodles over mashed potatoes. They would have been superb but it seems like more than one cook came through and salted the heck out of the noodles. They were briny and if it hadn’t been for the potatoes having no salt on them, they would have been inedible. The cranberry salad was alright. The pies were ok. Getting the food was very slow, too. Not sure why that was. I will say the atmosphere was cozy and cute. Love the mom and pop vibe and want to support mom and pop businesses. I will give the restaurant a second chance at some future date as they may have been having an off day. It won’t be any time soon because we do not live in the Illinois/Indiana area.
We discovered this restaurant earlier this year during a trip up north and had the chance to visit again recently. I'm happy to say it did not disappoint. This is true Americana at its finest. The food is delicious, the portion sizes are generous, and the service is excellent. This time, I opted for the breaded pork tenderloin, and I highly recommend it to anyone.

Such a sweet spot to stop for a late lunch. All three of us had something different and finished with a piece of pie. so good!
Food was just ok, after I found something they actually had. 3 different things I ordered they didn't have. I understand you may not want to update the menu, but when you tell some stuff you hadn't had since COVID! Wrong drink 1st time, forgot part of order until I asked, things server should be aware of.
