I'm going to be chatty this time. 1/ What is the score on tripadvisor? all depends on the mood, appetite, budget and especially the context 2/ what was the context?return of snowshoeing rando, fatigue 3/ what was it that we were looking for tonight? of comfort, not taking the head, eating quickly done to get back to rest 4/ balance? friendly welcome, quick service, tasteful pans but is it more important than taste? Our second visit! Just as great as the first. Simple, well made crepes at a really good price. Open when the rest of the village is not!! Recommended.
Wandering around Cauterets very little was open but then we found this place. It looked less than promising from the outside but with so few options we decided to give it a go. We ordered the menu of the day and weren't disappointed. There's no doubt that the food we were served was basic and wouldn't win any culinary awards, but the portions were well sized and mostly extremely tasty, all served by a delightful lady who worked single handed cooking andfront of house. Her preparation and organisation was phenomenal. During the time we were there she managed to serve at least 12 tables and hardly kept people waiting. Having gone in with low expectations we left with full tummies and smiles on our faces. Fabulous!
It was a familiar place, with nice food and very good and charming environment, i would recomend it.
Great little restaurant in Cauterets for lunch with the same lovely lady both cooking and serving. We had soup, galette, charcuterie and lots of wine- all very reasonable. The menu du jour looked delicious! Also open in low season. Would definitely recommend and hope to return!
